King Tiger German tank

Panzerkampfwagen VI B (Konigstiger)

The Panzerkampfwagen VI B was a German heavy panzer tank used very late in World War II, variously know as the Konigstiger by the Germans, King Tiger by the Americans, and Royal Tiger by the British. Full production began about June or July of 1944, but components were outsourced all over Germany and typically only 30 to 50 tanks could be produced per month. Peak production was 84 tanks in the month of August, 1944. A total of 492 were built by the end of the war with the final 25 tanks produced in March of 1945. One hundred and fifty King Tigers participated in the Battle of the Bulge.
