M36 (Jackson) Tank Destroyer - WWii

The M36 was a U.S. tank destroyer, nick named "TD's" by the American troops and the "Jackson" by the British. Mounted upon a modified Sherman tank chassis, it was the only American armored vehicle to mount a 90mm gun comparable to the German 88mm gun. The tank destroyers were intended to counter German Panzer assaults. Their tactics were called "shoot and scoot". They took a hiding position and shot at the approaching German tanks and then immediately moved away before the Germans could shoot back.
