Political poster for the November 1932 Reichstag election. Translation: "The people are voting for list 1, National Socialists, at the Reichstag election."

At this time, Germany faced economic problems including unemployment and widespread business failures. The Nazis' platform was to blame Jewish financiers and the Bolsheviks. Hitler's promises included revival the economy, restoring German greatness, overturning the Treaty of Versailles, and saving Germany from communism.

In the November 1932 election, the Nazis won 33.1% of the vote and 196 seats in the Reichstag.
In 1933, President Hindenburg appointed Hitler Reich Chancellor at the head of a cabinet.
