The Browning M1919 was manufactured during World War II by many different companies in the US. It could fire 400–600 rounds per minute. As used by the infantry it required at least a two-man team to fire, but in practice, four men were normally involved. It was often upgraded with the more powerful .50 caliber machine gun which had a much greater range and heavier bullet.
